With the population growth in our urban and suburban communities, it is becoming increasingly vital to preserve adequate green space and recreational opportunities for the benefit of the population. Park and Recreation design is the discipline within Planning Design Group’s practice that touches all aspects of the business including master planning, site planning, detailed landscape design as well as golf course design. We feel that parks are not only for active play, passive play and adult recreation but also parks provide the opportunity for education for children and adults alike. By creating outdoor classrooms, parks can teach us about how we coexist with nature and preserve our natural environment.  Increasingly, these lofty ideals have moved beyond the public sector.  Planning Design Group has worked with many private developers, who are incorporating parks and greenbelts into their projects.  Whether public or private clients, we have always undertaken recreation projects with enthusiasm; these projects have served to enhance the quality of life for people from all walks of life.

"We were impressed with the creativity that they showed in the way of developing park properties. To see a group that specializes so much and do such a good job in total park planning and development of the individual elements within a park, made us want to go with PDG."

Larry Ogle | Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation

"I always rely on their expertise in all planning areas. Park planning may seem simple with federal funds, but we don’t have the expertise to get things designed, implemented, and meet the standards the federal government requires.  They are experts at that aspect and we can rely on the fact that they are going to take care of them for us."

Mark Wilkerson | Director of  Muskogee Park and Recreation Department

"They came in with some pretty creative theme ideas for the parks and how things would fit together. We have been very pleased with the ideas that PDG brings. They do a lot of research and bring a lot of creative process to the table."
